Brazil’s construction entrepreneur confidence index fell by 5.5 points to 52.2 in March 2021, amid a shortage of construction materials, higher input prices and the adoption of stricter social distancing measures in many regions. Nevertheless, the indicator remains above the neutral value of 50, meaning that most of the local construction companies are confident about the economic recovery.

However, the sub-index of infrastructure works entered negative territory in the March, staying at 49.8 compared to 55.8 in February. The sub-indicators for construction of buildings and specialized services were at 52.5 and 51.5, respectively, in March.
